You can certainly waive the signature requirement, but please be aware of the risks. Once a carrier marks an item as delivered without a signature, we are unable to file claims for lost, stolen, or damaged packages. We take great care to ensure your map arrives in perfect condition.
Push Pin Maps & Magnetic Boards: These are securely placed in a sturdy cardboard box and protected with bubble wrap.
Canvas & Paper Posters: These are carefully rolled and placed inside a rigid tube. A layer of protective paper keeps the surface from shifting or scratching during transit. -
If the package is returned due to an issue on your end (incorrect address, missed delivery, courier is unable to reach you, failure to collect from a pickup point), you are responsible for the cost of return and reshipment.
If the failure is beyond your control (sorting error, damage noticed by the carrier, other unforeseen issue on their side), we will reship your order at no additional cost to you.
-

-
There are a few important exceptions to keep in mind:
Personalized & custom items: Since these are made especially for you, they cannot be returned or exchanged unless they arrive damaged or defective.
Used or damaged items: Unfortunately, if a product shows signs of use—such as pin marks, dirt, or stains—or was damaged after delivery, we cannot process a refund or exchange.
For full details, please visit our Returns & Exchange page.
-
If your return arrives damaged, we are unable to process a refund or exchange. However, we will help you recover the cost of the item from the shipping carrier.
As the sender in this scenario, you must file the claim. We will email you with all the documentation we have (photos of the packaging, damage report) to support your claim with the carrier once we receive your returned item.
Note: Just as you rely on us to file a claim for a damaged item, you must handle the claim when you are the one shipping the item back to us.
-
If possible, repack the map in the original packaging.
The map must be secured inside the box. Use bubble wrap or packing paper to prevent the canvas from sliding around and getting scratched.
Make sure to protect the corners of the map. Do not leave any empty space in the box.
Important: Safe packing is the responsibility of the sender. We cannot process refunds or exchanges for items damaged in transit due to insufficient or incorrect packaging.
Pricing & Payments
-
We know our maps are priced higher than mass‑produced alternatives—and we want to be upfront about why.
Every piece is carefully handcrafted in our Vilnius studio with a level of care that mass production simply can’t match.
Here’s what goes into each order:
Original designs: We create every single design from scratch, putting huge effort into making them both beautiful and geographically accurate.
Premium materials: Thick natural canvas, solid natural wood frames, galvanized steel (not magnetic paint) for our boards, and toxin-free water-based inks with a protective UV varnish.
Handmade quality: Each map is made by hand, not machines on a conveyor belt. This allows us to control every detail and ensure durability.
Designed to last: We use materials and techniques built to withstand years of pinning, moving, and displaying.
Fair compensation: We believe in treating our team right—fair wages for skilled work is part of what goes into every map.
Prices reflect the time, materials, craftsmanship, and care behind every single order—so you can feel confident that your map is something special that will last.

We don’t run aggressive, high‑percentage sales—and we never will. You won’t see us offering 50% off or similar promotions.
Here’s why: our prices are already fair and reflect the true quality of our products. We don’t inflate them just to slash them later. Every map is handcrafted with care, using premium materials, and made to last.
From time to time, we’ll run a small, thoughtful offer. Like adding a little gift to an order or a modest seasonal surprise. But these are exceptions, not the rule.
So if you’re waiting for a massive discount, we don’t want to mislead you—it’s not how we do things. Instead, you can always count on honest, stable pricing and a product that truly feels worth it.
Personalization & Customization
-
Personalizing your item is a simple process designed to ensure you love the final result.
- Choose your design and text: On the product page, select “Add personalization,” pick your preferred design, and enter your text in the field provided. If you’re adding a logo, attach your vector file (formats like .ai, .pdf, or .svg).

- Approve design: Review the proof carefully. If you’d like any changes or find any typos, let the designer know. We’ll only start producing your order when you’ve given your approval.
Important: Once you’ve approved the design, production begins immediately. Any further changes may incur additional costs, so please make sure you’re completely satisfied before giving the green light.
-
Previews are only created for confirmed orders—not before purchase. Once you place your order, our designer will email you a digital proof within 24 business hours for your review and approval before production begins.

Since personalized maps are custom-made especially for you, we’re unable to accept returns or exchanges after you receive the item.
That said, we love a creative solution! Here are some ideas:
Pin over it: Use photos, tickets, or small mementos to creatively cover or frame the personalization—it can become part of your map’s story.
Contact us: You can also email hello@tripmap.com. In some cases, we may be able to create a new personalization design and ship you a piece of matching canvas that you can carefully pin over the existing one. We’re always here to help—just ask!
-
We don’t offer fully customized map designs beyond our standard personalization options.
The process of building a completely custom map from scratch requires significant time and resources from our entire team, which would result in a much higher price point than our standard products. Instead, we focus on offering high-quality, thoughtfully-designed maps that you can personalize within our existing templates—so you still get a unique piece without the high price tag.
If you have something specific in mind, email us at hello@tripmap.com—we’d love to hear your idea and might consider it in the future for our standard collection.
-
We base our maps on official geographical data to ensure accuracy. That means place names and labels are fixed in the standard design.
If you have a special request, email us at hello@tripmap.com with the details, and we’ll see if something can be arranged. Requests may be declined if they require a difficult or overly complex adjustment process.
Please note:
- Modifying place names or labels is treated as a personalization and will incur the same additional cost.
- Such orders are considered custom‑made products. As a result, they are not eligible for return or exchange unless the item arrives defective or damaged.
-
We don’t offer individual color customization—each design features its own carefully curated color palette.
-
At this time, we don’t create custom maps of specific countries, regions, or continents beyond our standard collection. Designing a completely new map from scratch requires significant time and resources, which would result in a much higher price point than our standard options.
If you have a particular location in mind, email us at hello@tripmap.com—we’re happy to hear your ideas and may consider them for future designs.

Push Pin Travel Maps & Magnetic Boards
Yes—these items come ready to hang. They have a sturdy wooden underframe and metal sawtooth hangers, so no additional framing is needed. Just put screws into the wall and hang. An external frame is optional for a more polished look.
Canvas & Paper Posters
Canvas and Paper Posters ship rolled in a tube and do not include frame or hanging hardware. You can hang them directly on the wall using adhesive strips—and for a more permanent display, frame them or stretch the canvas over a backing. Canvas posters include 5 cm (2 in) margins to stretch them yourself.
-
Push Pin Travel Maps & Magnetic Boards
– Both come with sawtooth hangers attached to the back corners.
– To hang, drill two screws into the wall and place the hangers onto them.
– No specific screws are required—just ensure they are sturdy enough to support the item’s weight.
– Sawtooth hangers give you flexibility: if your screws aren’t perfectly aligned, you can still adjust the map’s position once it’s on the wall.
– If you prefer not to drill, adhesive hooks are an alternative, but they are not as durable. Whenever possible, we recommend drilling into the wall for a secure, long-lasting installation.
Canvas & Paper Posters
– Both ship rolled.
– For a clean, professional look, we recommend framing them or stretching the canvas over an underframe—canvas posters include 5 cm (2 in) margins for easy stretching.
– You can also attach the poster to a foam or cork backing board (from your local hardware store) for a sturdy display.
– Alternatively, hang them directly on the wall using clips or adhesive strips.
Push Pins & Accessories
-
All map formats comes with the map itself, plus a set of 100 push pins in your chosen color.
You can select any single color or a mix of six colors: red, green, yellow, black, white, and blue.
Need more? You can order additional pins separately here or directly on the map’s product page under “Additional Accessories.”
Other additional accessories (frames, or hanging kits) can also be added on the product page.
-
Absolutely. Order additional push pins in a variety of colors here or directly on the map’s product page under “Additional Accessories.”
-
Each push pin features a round plastic head, 4 mm (0.16 in) in diameter, and a stainless steel point, 11 mm (0.43 in) in length. This size allows you to place pins close together—especially useful in areas like Europe or the USA where cities are close together on the map.
-
No, the map is designed with a sturdy 1cm foam backing that holds pins securely without them coming through the other side—the wall behind your map stays completely undamaged.
-
Yes—the Push Pin Travel Map is designed with a sturdy foam backing that holds pins firmly in place. They won’t fall out or shift.
-
Pins are designed to be easy to insert, remove, and reposition as you update your travels.
Pin holes on natural textured canvas (Push Pin Travel Maps and canvas posters) are very small and barely noticeable.
Pin holes on paper posters are more visible.
-
Hanging hardware is not included, as wall types vary. Use any sturdy screws that are appropriate for your wall—no specific type is required.
For a durable, long-lasting installation, we highly recommend drilling into the wall. Adhesive hanging hooks are not recommended for heavier items like framed maps or magnetic boards.
-
Yes, but with some important considerations.
Canvas and paper posters do not have the same foam backing as our standard Push Pin Travel Maps. If you pin directly into a poster hanging on the wall, the pins will not hold securely and may damage the wall.
For a pin-friendly setup, we recommend a DIY approach: attach the poster to a backing such as corkboard, foam board, or a wooden panel. This creates a sturdy surface for pinning and protects your wall. Alternatively, you can take the poster to a professional framer for a custom display.
Materials, Durability, Care & Safety
-
Our products are built to last for decades with proper care. We use high-quality materials that resist yellowing, cracking, and ink fractures, and a protective UV varnish to guard against fading.
For best results, display your map or board in a stable indoor environment such as a living room, bedroom, or office. Avoid bathrooms and outdoor spaces as humidity, temperature fluctuations, and moisture can affect natural materials.
Minor changes may occur in rare cases:
– Sun exposure: Minor fading over many years is possible but very unlikely thanks to the UV varnish.
– Humidity or temperature shifts: Canvas may wrinkle slightly in response to seasonal changes—this is normal and typically resolves on its own as conditions stabilize.
If you notice any persistent changes or have concerns, contact us at hello@tripmap.com and we’ll be happy to help.
-
It depends on the format:
Push Pin Travel Maps & Magnetic Boards: Satin finish—a soft, gentle sheen that adds a refined look while remaining readable and easy to clean.
Canvas & Paper Posters: Matte finish—non-reflective and ideal for framing or displaying in any lighting.
-
Yes—all of our products are printed with safe, water-based inks that are non-toxic, low-VOC, and child- and pet-friendly. Our inks and varnishes contain no heavy metals, harmful chemicals, or strong odors. You can feel confident displaying them, even with little ones or pets around.
-
Our maps offer high fade resistance thanks to a UV-protective varnish—colors stay vivid for years. However, to ensure longevity, we recommend avoiding prolonged direct sunlight. Displaying your map in indirect or filtered light is best for preserving its original vibrancy.
-
For optimal longevity, display your map or board in cool, dry, stable indoor environments such as a living room, bedroom, or office. These spaces provide consistent temperature and humidity, which helps preserve natural materials like canvas and wood.
Ideal spots: Above a couch, bed, or desk where it can be enjoyed daily.
Avoid: Bathrooms, under air conditioners, above radiators, and other areas with high humidity, extreme temperature fluctuations, or prolonged direct sunlight. These conditions can affect the finish and durability over time.
-
No—our maps are designed for indoor use only. Exposure to weather, moisture, humidity, and extreme UV rays can cause fading, warping, or damage over time. For optimal durability and appearance, display your map in a stable indoor environment.
-
With proper care, your map will stay beautiful for years. Our maps are protected with a special varnish, making them resistant to sunlight and staining.
Regular care:
– Dust with a soft, dry microfiber cloth or feather duster.
– For smudges or fingerprints, use a lightly damp microfiber cloth—avoid rubbing or pressing hard. A little soapy water can be used for tougher spots, but avoid harsh cleaning chemicals (dish soaps, universal cleaners, or scrubbing sponges).
Placement:
– Avoid direct sunlight, high humidity, and heat sources.
– Display in cool, dry, stable environments like living rooms, bedrooms, or offices.
Storage:
– Store in a dry, cool place—ideally in the original box.
– Avoid damp areas like basements, storage rooms, or garages.
Handling:
– Handle your map by the edges to prevent fingerprints.
– Wash your hands before handling—especially when adding pins.
For more detailed cleaning instructions, visit our blog post.
-
To dust, use a soft, dry microfiber cloth or feather duster. For fingerprints or smudges, lightly dampen a microfiber cloth with water, gently wipe the area, and dry immediately with a clean, dry cloth.
Important:
Never use harsh chemicals, sprays, alcohol, or abrasive materials—they can damage the inks and protective coating.
Avoid soaking or applying excessive moisture.
Always handle your map by the edges to minimize fingerprints. -
We do not recommend writing directly on any of our products. Surfaces are not designed for markers, pencils, chalk, or other writing tools, which may not erase and could damage the finish.
Instead, use push pins to secure labels, paper tags, and notes.
Map Content, Design & Accuracy
-
We design our maps to feel both accurate and welcoming. Country names appear in English, while city names are shown in their local language—so you’ll see French cities in French, German cities in German, and so on.
If a map is available in another language, you’ll find the option right on the product page. No language option? That means the map is in our default language.
We’re always working on adding new languages, but we don’t offer custom language changes or translations upon request. If there’s a specific version you’d love to see, let us know—we love to hear your ideas even if we cannot accomodate them right away!
-
We put a lot of care into making sure our maps are as accurate as they are beautiful. Every detail is based on officially-confirmed, globally-recognized cartographic sources, so you can trust that borders, labels, and landmarks reflect widely-accepted current geography.
Note:
Our maps are designed to track your travels and let you dream about what’s next, not for precise surveying or real-time political updates. We update them to stay current, but singular or disputed border changes may not appear immediately.
-
After careful consideration, we chose the Miller cylindrical projection because it offers a great balance—the overall shape of continents are familiar and visually appealing while offering plenty of space to pin the wonderful places you’ve visited.
We don’t currently offer other projections, but we’ve found this one works beautifully for travel tracking and everyday display.
-
Our maps are designed to keep the focus on where you’ve been and where you’re dreaming of next. You’ll find countries, thousands of cities, oceans, seas, islands, and rivers—but no highways or road networks.
We made this choice intentionally to keep the design clean, easy to read, and to give you plenty of open space for pins, photos, and notes.
-
Our maps feature thousands of cities, islands, rivers, and more—and the best way to explore them is to visit our interactive maps page.
Simply select a map and hover over the image to zoom in and move it around. You’ll see every city, river, and geographical detail up close.
-
We want the map to be detailed enough to inspire your travels, but clean and easy to read at a glance.
We prioritize major and popular cities, and in denser areas (like Europe on a world map), we include fewer labels to keep the map from feeling cluttered.
Explore which cities are included on our interactive maps page.
-
For most of our maps—medium, large, and extra-large—you’ll find the same rich level of detail, scaled proportionally. Find thousands of cities, islands, rivers, and other features, whether you choose 100×70 cm or 150×100 cm.
Our compact 60×40 cm size is the exception. Because it’s smaller, it includes only countries and their capitals to keep the map clean and readable.
-
Absolutely. We design every map with readability in mind—clear, legible fonts, high-contrast colors, and crisp printing keep text sharp across all sizes. With scalable vector elements and our high-quality print process, you’ll find your favorite cities even on the smaller maps.
If you enjoy reading every detail and label, a larger map size will naturally give you a more comfortable and immersive experience.
-
In general, on our World and Europe maps, different colors are used to make countries easy to spot without having to hunt for border lines. On our country-specific maps (like the USA or UK & Ireland), colors often highlight states, regions, or counties, adding a helpful layer of visual organization.
Some collections use a more subtle, tone-on-tone palette for a softer, more minimalistic design.
Sizing & Selection
-
Start by measuring your wall space and considering how far you’ll be viewing it from.
Here’s a quick guide:
– Small (85×60 cm / 33×24 in): Great for compact spaces, narrow walls, or displaying on furniture.
– Medium (100×70 cm / 39×28 in): Our most versatile size—fits beautifully in bedrooms, offices, or living rooms.
– Large (120×80 cm / 47×32 in): A bold piece with more space for pins.
– Extra-Large (150×100 cm / 59×39 in): A true statement for spacious rooms or open-plan spaces. If you’re well-traveled, going bigger gives you plenty of space without feeling crowded.
For a detailed guide with visual examples, visit our blog post: How to Choose the Size of a Push Pin Map.
-
It depends on the format and the airline.
Push Pin Travel Maps are too large to qualify as carry-on in most cases. They ship in a large cardboard box, so you’d need to check them as luggage or arrange for shipping.
Canvas and Paper Posters ship rolled in a tube, which may fit within carry-on size limits. Check the size you’re ordering and compare it to your airline’s carry-on restrictions.
If you’re unsure, we recommend contacting your airline directly—they have the final say on what’s allowed.
-
Great question—and a common one!
Our canvas posters include 5 cm (2 in) margins on each side. The size listed on the product page refers to the image area (the map itself), not the full canvas sheet. For example, a 100×70 cm map actually comes on a 110×80 cm canvas.
Those extra inches are for easy stretching over a frame. Trim the margins if they are not needed.

Here’s what might be happening:
For UK deliveries with standard shipping: We use partners to get your parcel to the UK. Once it arrives, it’s handed over to your local courier, and that’s when tracking updates begin. This process can take up to a week, so a quiet tracking page doesn’t mean it’s not moving.
For other destinations worldwide: We ship from Lithuania, so it’s normal for tracking not to update for a few days while your parcel is in transit between countries. If it’s been over a week, reach out to us.
Important for non-EU countries: Double-check that any import fees or taxes have been paid—unpaid duties are one of the most common reasons for delivery delays.
If you spot anything unusual, email us at hello@tripmap.com—we’ll look into it for you.
-
First, double-check—pins can be sneaky!
– Push Pin Travel Maps: They may be tucked in the bubble wrap or still in the box. Look for a small transparent bag with a greeting card and the box of pins inside.
– Canvas & Paper Posters: Pins are usually attached to the tube cap.
– Magnetic Boards & Pin Boards: Pins are not included with these products.Still can’t find them? No worries—email us at hello@tripmap.com, and we’ll sort it out.
-
We replace all items lost or damaged* during shipping at no cost to you.
If your order arrives damaged, please email us at hello@tripmap.com as soon as possible—and no later than 20 calendar days after the delivery date—with the following photos:
- The package from multiple sides, clearly showing the damage.
- The TripMap logo sticker and the shipping label on the box.
- The product itself.
- A close-up of the damaged area on the product.
Please hold onto the packaging and the item until we confirm we have everything we need. Depending on the case, the courier may request additional details.
Importance of 20‑day deadline:
Carriers will not accept damage claims after 20 calendar days from delivery. If you miss this deadline, we will not be able to offer a replacement or solution.*Replacement does not apply to items with minor damage that does not affect the item’s appearance or functionality (for example, a small scratch or dent on the back that is not visible when mounted).
-
Since personalized maps are custom-made especially for you, we’re unable to accept returns or exchanges after you receive the item.
That said, we love creative solutions! Here are a couple of ideas:
– Pin over it: Use photos, tickets, or small mementos to creatively cover or frame the personalization—it can become part of your map’s story.
– Contact us: Reach out at hello@tripmap.com. In some cases, we may be able to create a new personalized design and ship you a piece of matching canvas that you can carefully pin over the existing one.
We’re always here to help—just ask!
-
No. Our frames are carefully designed and custom-fitted to each individual map. Because natural materials like wood and canvas have slight variations, we measure each piece to ensure the perfect floating frame fit—then drill and attach the frame directly to your map in our studio.
This means the frame isn’t removable and isn’t suitable for home assembly. If you’re considering adding a frame later, it’s best to order it with your map.
-
No, we don’t offer digital or printable files. Every map is a physical, handcrafted piece, printed on premium canvas or paper in our Lithuanian studio, and shipped directly to your door.

No, we don’t offer custom printing services. Our focus is on designing and handcrafting our own collection of detailed travel maps and boards.
About Us
-
All of our maps are carefully designed, handcrafted, and assembled in Lithuania. From printing and personalization to framing and packaging—everything happens in our own workshop, where we can keep a close eye on quality and craftsmanship.
We also believe in supporting local businesses. Whenever possible, we source materials from trusted European suppliers, chosen for their durability and eco-friendliness. It’s our way of making sure your map is not only beautiful, but made with care from start to finish.
-
As an online shop, we don’t have a public showroom or retail space at this time.
Our workshop is located in Vilnius, Lithuania, where we focus on crafting and shipping orders to travelers all over the world.
-
A bit of both—in the best way.
We use professional printing technology (Canon PRO-4000) to ensure crisp, vivid details and consistent quality. From there, everything is done by hand in our workshop: cutting, stretching canvas over sturdy underframes, attaching sawtooth hangers, quality-checking every piece, and carefully packaging each order.
While we embrace the precision of modern printing, the heart of every item is the hands-on care that goes into finishing it.
-
Yes—every map is designed from scratch by our own team. From the geography and typography to the color palettes and layouts, we create everything ourselves in our studio. It’s how we ensure each map is both beautiful and accurate.
