It was a pleasure dealing with Trip Map. The quality of the map is extremely good and not only does it work well for planning adventure locations, it looks great as a piece of art. Well done!
The quality of the product met the expectations of an expensive purchase and we’re looking forward to spending some winter nights pin sticking the places we have visited and highlighting the areas the areas we haven’t. We ordered the largest size for more detail but the place named are quite small even for our reading glasses and we wondered if the scale of the map could have been slightly increased as much of the space is given to areas of sea. Perhaps this could have been achieved by boxing the most northern isles as they have done for the CI and removing Eire from the map as it’s not part of the UK although we knew this before purchase but in reality it does compromise the actual land area of the map given its size and detail and wonder if buying a smaller version the wasted space could have been reduced. That said it’s a quality, fun and interesting thing and will really enhance our home office. We have not hung it on the wall yet or pushed any pins in so cannot comment on the ease of either but given the very small detail of place names in urban areas we expect some names will be obscured, for us the map would have been enhanced by concentrating on places you’re more likely to visit for a getaway break. In Scotland for example you’re unlikely to make a beeline for all the towns in the Central belt such as Airdrie, Hamilton &Motherwell but have visited attractive little places liked Plockton on the NW coast and not shown even though Appledore is detailed and equally lovely despite being a much smaller place but like Plockton a place you’re more likely to aspire to visit if not already done do rather than the aforementioned destinations. I’m sure many will have a different perspective on our personal opinion but the quality of the product is excellent and as you’d expect for such a fragile & expensive item it was sent in very robust and faultless packaging, overall we would recommend it especially for highlighting those areas you have yet to explore and would be rewarded for doing so which I suspect for us willbe the Peak District and much of the East Coast.
